The Launch of the Bosnia & Herzegovina Junior Open
In a significant development for junior billiards, the Bosnia & Herzegovina Junior Open is set to make its debut on the World Nineball Tour. Scheduled for March 14-15, 2025, this tournament will take place at the Hills Hotel Sarajevo, alongside the prestigious European Open Pool Championship. With a $10,000 prize fund up for grabs, the event promises to be a thrilling competition for young talents aged 17 and under.
A Platform for Young Talents
With the expectation of 32 players participating in a single-elimination format, the Bosnia & Herzegovina Junior Open is designed to provide a competitive stage that enhances skill development and showcases emerging talents. Sanjin Pehlivanovic, a notable player from the region, expressed excitement about this new opportunity, affirming its potential to inspire local juniors through exposure to world-class competition.
A Unique Experience for Participants
Participants will enjoy not only the thrill of competition but also additional perks such as a complimentary custom tournament jersey from Onboard Sportswear and guest passes to the European Open. While those competing in the Junior Open will be unable to play in the main European Open due to scheduling conflicts, they will gain invaluable insights watching some of the best players in the world.
Building on Previous Success
The anticipation surrounding the Junior Open is heightened by last year’s exciting junior final, where Maks Benko triumphed in a nail-biting showdown against Luka Bugarski. This upcoming event aims to build on those successes, offering junior players a chance to shine and continue the legacy of competitive billiards in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
As preparations for the tournament progress, it is clear that the Bosnia & Herzegovina Junior Open is not just a competition but a celebration of youth, talent, and opportunity in billiards.
